Huh! An explanation of the health care system by the HC insurance company, Humana. Ya right!
@bravone1 Just cause you never get sick doesn’t mean you wont need health insurance. For example, when I run you over with my car, you will face several hundred thousand dollars of hospital bills without it. It is not socialism. We are one of the last industrialized countries without.
I would like to point out that different brands of medication (name brands and off brands) have very slightly different compositions, sometimes a doctor requests a specific off brand because of a tiny difference.
@bravone1 you pay for medicare and you do not use that either. So you should also be against MEDICARE in which GWB EXPANDED. BTW I do not want Obamacare AND I am also against medicare.
lol if i made my doctor and “ongoing” part of my “health routine” i would be homeless. its to damn expensive, and yes, americans need to take better care of themselves, but that still doesnt account for how fast the expenses of healthcare are rising. its a nice black and white solution, but just not based in reality. also, i was surprised to see that malpractice insurance only accounted for 10% of healthcare costs.
lol, that’s so funny.
Have u even got a clue of what you’re saying?
Are u that egoistic?
In Belgium we have one of the best healthcare systems in the entire world.
ppl get 1.5 years older in Belgium than in the USA, and Belgium isn’t in the top 5 of most wealthy countries, and the USA is nr 1 i guess.
@peterkm23 First of all, we protect the entire western world from threats of attack, other nations have more to spend, because we ARE their national defence. Also, we realize that government run systems are inefficient. We seek to resolve our issues with businesses and market values. We CAN get healthcare for everyone, but a government run system is not the answer.
Yeah, these numbers don’t line up. Besides the biggest factor is ignored – irresponsible money practices.
In the last ten years the price of oil has increased 350% by the US Dollar.
200% increase by the Euro.
0% by the gold standard(!)
What if the health industries are NOT responsible for high costs?
What if poor economic policies by congress are?
You didn’t even spell Obama right. Also, you don’t speak for everyone. Lastly, there is no such thing as Obamacare. It is a made up word used by republicans to bash on Obama. The real word is health care reform. Learn it and read it.
A person being swallowed up by medical bills is freedom and liberty? A person being taken advantaged by their insurance company is freedom and liberty? A person being denied of health coverage because of preexisting is freedom and liberty? A person losing their homes because of medical bill is freedom and liberty? Words such as freedom and liberty are not valid arguments. Do you even know what the bill will do for the people? Try reading for once.Btw, capitalizing words don’t support a point.
@peterkm23 Because the system always, always, always goes bankrupt. Canada, France, and Brazil have all released information that they cannot afford it, even with 30%+ income tax. France is planning on cutting back on their system by about 50%. Not to mention the 8 hour wait to see a doctor.
Lets all move to Canada and get this over with. OH WAIT, i already did last year.
Yeh, healthcare pass!
I was told that 10 million Government jobs is now open to run the healthcare department. Submit your applications to your local Acorn offices as soon as possible.
Requirements: GED or high school diploma.
If you did not finish 12 grade education, you may submit your application and pass a written test. Please tell a friends.
Drug makers stocks are higher thanks to the passing of the bill. The bill gets $409.2 billion in morel taxes by 2019, as per congressional Joint Committee on Taxation. Imposes $69 billion more in penalties for individuals and businesses who dont meet mandates to buy insurance. Higher medicare taxes on individuals on investment income including interest on 401K. 15% Tax rate on dividends rise to 20% Medicare tax from 1.45 to 2.35%. Taxes on cadillac plan taken off for Pelosi and friends sake
You say. NO to Christian values of charity and help-thy-neighbour and YES to the pain and death of your fellow citizens and your slavery to the medical / insurance industry
Yes just like they oversaw the housing market, social security and bailouts. Why do want to give them more of your money? Gov.t was never put in place to take over every aspect of our lives. I think Healthcare industry was in need of reform (middle ground) if it works keep going if it doesn’t take a step back and explore other means Not transfer of power. This is not about the little people, This is about attacking capitalism through higher taxation and redistribution programs.
Ronald Reagan said: We can measure an entitlement program’s success by how many people leave and not how many are added. FDR created Social Security to prevent future debt but, what Dems have done is used Social security funds to create more entitlements and mismanagement. The bills total cost was reduced by excluding the Dr Fix that will go in another bill, cut medicare benefits, takeover education lending industry and start paying 4 years in advance. I call this a Scheme.
one of the problems with meds and pharma is that people in the US pay the cost of R&D on the meds they buy so big pharma can give price breaks to Canada and other countries that have national health policies.. if R&D was equally devided between all pills produced, our cost in the US would go down approx 30%
One of the largest, if not the largest single source of medical research money is the government. Additionally, university level research (funded by the government) is responsible for a portion of drug research (drug companies take the research and adapt it to a drug, much cheaper then doing all the research themselves).
It sucks how much the dem bill doesn’t address these problems; instead, it just seeks to broaden and extend their burdens. Sweet. Good to know fat smokers are stealing right out of our pockets, and that’s supposedly some kind of grand social “change.”
Take some personal responsibility: stay healthy. Take some collective responsibility: people need to see the doctor before they get sick (as stated in the clip above)–making healthcare more accessible will do that.
The “Congressional Budget Office”? You mean the government? Ya, no surprise there. Of course they’re gonna lower those amounts, have you not heard, they’re pushing for the largest government takeover of healthcare in our entire history.
Very good video, now if only we could get Comrade Obama to watch this, maybe a little light would come on in his brain and he’d wake up and see what the REAL problem is.
Ban Prescription Drug Commercials.
This whole video is a hidden campaign for the insurance companies’ side of the story. The core message is you are paying more because you have dumb lifestyle. WOW!!
I think the reality is exactly other way around. Keep the health insurance companies out, ban them and everything will be more affordable. Most of the “price” the tax payer is paying is going into their “profits” which they make without manufacturing a water-bubble!!
he Senate version of the health care bill identified at least 19 tax increases. When you put all of the tax increases together they add up to the biggest tax increase in the history of the United States.
