@jmichel9113 Worse—- he could not NOT know that! He must know city, state, fed governments ALL HAVE balance sheets and that the idea of “deficit” is not exactly accurate. All have INCOMING money (from land, land taxes, rents, collections of various other taxes, sales, fines, court settlements, etc, etc, etc.) Whatever is not spent is listed as PROFIT. Whoever collects for “healthcare” will profit. Governments will get the PROFITS previously made by others.

@Hammersley1967 I work weekly for Habitat, never once saw a liberal show up and help out nor do we bet any money from them. They like to sit on their b u t t s and cry about taking care of everyone until all our money is gone.
Michael Moore makes me puke…..he’s crying the blues about people that are not responsible enough to take care of themselves. I put away enought money each year to take care of myself and my family. All these people had the same opportunities that I had so why do I owe them. If Moore is so serious, why not spend your money to pay for medical bills? What else does he do? Does he volunteer for anything? Has he given anyone a leg up?

I wouldn’t pretend to have an in depth knowledge about the socioeconomic politics of Europe, but Australia’s “Utopian” mindset (free education, health care, and state housing for the poor) is working out just fine…

In short, they’re toast. Greece has a huge public sector that wants to “retire” at 50. They’ve got a couple of weeks cash left; then what.

@baldrad1 We spend more on health care per capita than any other country in the world. If we had a universal system it would help our country, not bankrupt it. However, the Iraq War is predicted to cost us 4 trillion dollars in the long run. By the way, learn to spell. It’s “staph”, not “staff”. Regarding the comment below about 8% of GDP, yes you can justify it. Right now health care is 18% of GDP we’d save 10%. The question is how to get that 10% back to the people before they find somewhere else to spend it.

@Hammersley1967 Think of it like this, if one in every 300 people in America ended up needing about $1000000 in Medical care in under a year and we were on the type of socialized insurance you are talking about the bill would be over $1000000000000 which is close to 8% of the entire GDP of America. So for a government that already has a debt to GDP ratio of 100% you simply can’t justify adding another trillion a year to the budget. Which is realistically the low end.
Only 27,314 people have watched at most part of this. This is a national tragedy that so few Americans have seen this; please spread this video everywhere. Email everyone you know and send this link. If you are on online forums, spread the link there. I’ve been sharing this for years and it’s gotten some traction, but NOT ENOUGH. Do it for your country. Too many are suffering in agony and dying as we speak. America is better than this.

I’ve been thinking something was wrong in the 2000′s, I can see the Independent insurance being bought by the oligopolies has had a terrible effect. This is a market being held hostage..it is not free.

In Canada most healthcare providers are private providers. In other words, the doctors are mostly for profit. It’s the insurers (the federal, provincial and territorial governments) that are not for profit.
And where did you learn this information that the Canadian HC system “going broke”? What is your source? CIGNA?

Yes, the private insurance industry would like to prevent a public option. But that does not automatically mean that a public option is a good idea.
Take the converse example, Obama and the Democrats lie and lie and lie about health care facts in order to get their plans passed, but that does not automatically mean that their plans are bad. You have to look at the facts/merits/shortcomings before deciding that.
I really hope that these people or advocacy organization below me really gets sick and tries to get help from their insurance company!! but wait alot of them work for the government and they have government controlled healthcare or are rich and can afford to pay for it themselves. bye the way they get alot of money from the health industry to think like this…

We as conservatives stand against the socialized government controlled vaccine program that currently exists in the United States.
We want to privatize this institution. Americans should have the freedom to take responsibility for themselves, stop looking for hand outs, and shop the free market for a best H1N1 vaccine.

This statistic has been debunked many times. Medicare/Medicaid keep their overhead low because they do not perform basic oversight of claimed expenses. That is why fraud is much more rampant in these systems than in the private system. When you factor in reasonable estimates for system fraud as an “administrative cost” you get pretty much the same overhead numbers for public health as you do for private health.
Most important stat shared in this video: Medicare/Medicaid admin overhead 3%, private health insurance admin overhead 20%. It’s time for a change…get the word out…the Corporate health insurers are fooling us. And the politicians are in their back pocket!

I applaud Mr. Potter, and having been a part of the insurance biz, this is just touching the surface. An industry that has been spending 1.5 million dollars a day trying to scare the population out of a public option probably, just PROBABLY, might have a vested interest in making sure that there won’t be one? Hmmmm… let me think…Just how much more wool do people need pulled over their eyes before they become the sheep?
